Krats are large, vicious creatures created by Dr. Harding, that come from the combination of cat and rat DNA. Krats are known for their long, whip-like tails, poisonous bite, and aggressive personalities. Krats hunt in packs inside of Mead's hollow.
Appearance in books[]
In Atherton: Rivers of Fire , Krats first appear when they attack the group as they journey downwards through Mead's Hollow. Dr. Kincaid instructs the group that Krats are scared by the clacking noises that can be made by smacking the tongue on the roof of the mouth. . and with the rise of water levels flooding the inner two levels of Atherton, it is likely that all of the Krats have been drowned.
